I can do anything for 9 months, right? This is my story and journal to becoming an Ironman. 2.4 mile swim + 112 mile bike + 26.2 mile run = 140.6

Slow Fat Triathlete
I know I'm not the fastest or most fit athlete out there and frankly
I don't care.
Ironman Wisconsin 2011 will be held on September 11th,
the 10 Year anniversary of 911.
I have the privilege of being part of a team of athletes that will
honor this day and the lives lost.
I also plan to fund raise for the Leukemia Society.
Yes, look for the letters begging for money.
Why?
Because without their help, I wouldn't have my soul mate support Patrick.
When Patrick was going through his chemo treatments, I was training for a half marathon and when I felt too tired or my body hurt, I always reminded myself that Patrick probably felt worse.
So, I will continue to draw on that experience and people with cancer for my motivation to FINISH this race.
Also, I promise when the event is over, so is this blog.
I'm not a writer, but I figured it would be good to document this experience.
Sometimes it will just be photos (they are worth a MILLION words) and
sometimes you will simply see what training I did that day/week.
Perhaps I could have some guest bloggers post on my behalf?
I'm scared, but looking forward to this 9 month ADVENTURE!
I'm determined to finish the event.
